At JustinUMC, we believe that growing in Christ is a life-long journey.

Christian education is part of that journey, and no, it isn't just for kids. As adults, we learn to explore scripture beyond just the Bible stories we might have heard in our childhood. We learn of its people, its cultures, and its history -- our history. We learn how the Holy Spirit speaks to each of us personally through its passages. And we are challenged to let Christ's love flow through us by living what we learn.

Whether you're just beginning your journey of faith, finding your way back onto the path, or well on the road, let one of our Sunday School classes or Bible studies help guide you on your way. Or, contact the church office if you're interested in starting a new class.

Sunday School

All Sunday School classes occur between the two services. Please ask a greeter if you would like help in locating a class.

Fellowship Class: The Fellowship class consists of a group that has a bit more life experience than the rest of the JustinUMC congregation. Even though we may have been on the planet a little longer, we are well aware that we still have much to learn from the Bible. Our lessons cover a wide range of topics but we are currently studying “Discipleship and Mission” as taught in the four Gospels. The Fellowship Class is delighted to welcome any who would like to join us to dig into what the Bible means to those of us who are not Shepherds, Fishermen, Scribes or Pharisees.

B.A.S.I.C. (Brothers And Sisters In Christ):  The BASIC Class searches God’s word to find the truth to govern how we live our lives every day.  Our time together on Sunday mornings can consist of video or verbal teaching.  But, we most enjoy discussing what we’ve heard. In the past we have studied "Jesus’ Last Days", "Important Men & Women of the Bible", "He Chose The Nails", and "Faithful – Christmas Through the Eyes of Joseph".  We also enjoy times of fellowship together outside of class and enjoy serving the community together throughout the year.

4TWLV Young Adult Class: The 4TWLV class name was inspired by the verse 1 Timothy 4:12. Our group is comprised of college-aged young adults to young married/single men and women. Our goal for class is to equip ourselves with the knowledge of Gods creation and his infallible word. We want to know God and train ourselves to gain wisdom and understanding of how to live holy and make disciples (Matthew 28:19-20, 2 Timothy 3:16-17).  We also want to serve God with our gifts by serving others (Ephesians 1:17-19), so we serve in the Longmeadow ministry, volunteer with the youth and children's ministries in the church and much more.  We also have monthly outings and Bible Studies as well as retreats throughout the year.

Bible Studies

We offer a variety of different Bible Studies of different lengths and styles.

We currently have a Church-wide Bible Study that meets each Wednesday night during the school year following our Fellowship Dinner.  You are welcome to join us at any time, and we look forward to seeing you there.

Our Men's Bible study meets each Monday morning at the Lonesome Spur at 5:45am.  All men are invited to join us any week.

Our Women's Bible study is starting in December.  We will be meeting at 5:15am at the home of Delania Dries.  If you are interested in joining us, please contact Vicki Pope at for all the details.

Each spring we also complete a Church-wide Bible Study for 6-8 weeks.  In 2016, we completed the Contagious Christian Study.  It was very powerful and meaningful for our church.  We are excited to see what our 2017 study will be.

We have several other "pop-up" Bible studies that meet for a set number of weeks throughout the year.  If you are interested in learning more about these, please contact the church office for information.
